Frozen

Toronto is currently experiencing the worst ice storm of the city’s history. Over 300,000 people are without heat and electricity. Luckily, I’m not one of them — our block is unaffected.

Skating down the frozen road.

The trees are so coated in ice that the branches are collapsing under the weight and causing major damage to power lines and property. Toronto hydro can’t even guarantee that power will be restored in time for Christmas.

Pretty beautiful if not for all the trouble it’s causing.

It’s pretty crazy. Look at pictures from The Wire.

We just returned home from a dinner party. No lights, just candles and a fireplace. It was actually pretty lovely. We ate oysters while our host stood in the snow, cooking giant shrimp skewers on the BBQ.

Be safe and warm and have a Merry Christmas.
